Day Plan
Hour-by-hour overview
Depart Arusha at approximately 08:00 for the 1.5-hour drive to Moshi. If departing from Moshi, pickup is around 09:00. Arrive at a family-run coffee farm on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where Arabica coffee has been grown for generations.
Walk through the coffee plantation with the farmer, learning about cultivation, harvesting, and the annual coffee cycle. Then get hands-on: pick ripe cherries, pulp them, ferment, wash, dry, and roast the beans over an open fire. Grind the roasted beans using a traditional mortar and pestle.
Sit down for a tasting session of freshly brewed Kilimanjaro Arabica — rich, smooth, and aromatic. Compare it with other roasts and learn to identify flavour notes. Return to Arusha by approximately 13:00.
