Day Plan
Hour-by-hour overview
Depart Arusha at approximately 08:00 for the drive through the Tanzanian countryside on the slopes of Mount Meru. Pass through agricultural villages growing maize, potatoes, bananas, and seasonal crops. Arrive at the trailhead near Napuru and meet your local guide.
Begin the 4 km guided hike through lush forest, rolling valleys, sparkling streams, and riverbanks. The trail is moderate with stairs and railings on steeper sections. Look out for colobus monkeys, colourful birds, and indigenous plants. The hike takes approximately 1.5–2 hours each way.
Settle down at a scenic spot near the waterfall for your packed picnic lunch. After lunch, take a refreshing swim in the natural pool, photograph the falls, or simply relax surrounded by lush forest.
Hike back to the trailhead in the early afternoon, then enjoy a relaxed drive back to Arusha. Arrive at your hotel around 16:00–17:00.
