Hour-by-hour overview
Depart Arusha at approximately 04:00 for a transfer to Arusha Airport (ARK). Board a scheduled charter flight to a Serengeti airstrip (approx. 1-hour flight). Arrive at the Serengeti airstrip and transfer to the balloon launch site near Seronera.
At approximately 06:15, arrive at the launch site where balloons are being inflated. Enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments as the crew prepares the balloon. At sunrise, lift off and drift silently over the Serengeti plains. The flight lasts approximately one hour, covering 5–15 km depending on wind conditions.
Upon landing, your ground crew greets you for the traditional champagne toast. Then sit down to a full English bush breakfast served under the open sky with white linen, fresh coffee, and cooked dishes.
After breakfast, receive your commemorative flight certificate. Transfer back to the Serengeti airstrip for your return charter flight to Arusha, arriving around midday.
